Subject:                  PGM - Assignment of Designated Conservationists for Fiscal Year 2008

Purpose:                 To clarify roles and responsibilities of Designated Conservationists

Expiration Date:     December 31, 2008

The following individuals have been assigned Designated Conservationists for the Field Office Service Areas: As changes occur, Acting Designated conservationist updates will be issued.

The Designated Conservationist is responsible for providing local program leadership, assuring all national and state rules, policies, and procedures are followed. This includes the following responsibilities, among others:

  • Eligibility determinations are accurate and appropriate for applicants and their land
  • Technical prescriptions are adequate and accurate, and required for the resource concern
  • Ranking accurately reflects the proposed plan
  • Payments are processed accurately, and in a timely manner
  • Our customers are aware of and understand our programs and services
