You could be eligible to participate in the Conservation
Security Program if you can answer “YES” to the following questions that apply
to your farm operation.
1. Does most of your farm lie within the Anchorage Watershed
(See Map)?
2. Is your farm privately or tribally owned?
3. Do you own or have control of the land you intend to enroll
in CSP for the length of the proposed 5 to 10 year contract period?
4. Do you share in the risk of producing the crop or livestock
on this farm?
5. Do you use conservation practices to improve soil quality on
all offered fields such as crop rotations, conservation tillage, forage harvest
management and prescribed grazing?
6. Do you use conservation practices to protect water quality on
the farm such as filter strips, field borders, and nutrient and pest management?
7. Do you have at least two years of records related to soil
testing, nutrient application, and pest management methods/applications?
8. On pasture and rangeland do you have at least two years of
records related to frequency and duration of grazing periods, livestock numbers,
and forage production estimates and are you currently managing livestock access
to streams and/or ponds?
9. Is your farm in compliance with highly erodible land and
wetland conservation rules?
10. Are your crop fields and pastures free of active gullies?

100. She will place you on the CSP sign-up list and then direct you to fill out
the CSP self-assessment workbook that will collect more details about your
