Flounder Family Soils
Coarse Loamy, mixed, Aquic Cryorthents

Description:  Loamy dark brown to dark grayish brown soils formed in colluvium over glacial drift with alder and fern on steep escarpments. Very strongly to strongly acid soils.

Vegetation:  Alder and/or willow with fern understory

Parent Material:  Shallow coarse silty colluvium over coarse loamy and sandy skeletal glacial drift

Drainage:  Somewhat poorly drained

Slope:  Very steep linear backslopes of escarpments

Flooding: No flooding hazard
