Nushagak Soil Series
Coarse Silty, mixed, Histic Cryaquepts

Description:  Grayish brown to olive gray soils formed in loess with a mossy organic mat on footslopes of hills and on plain talfs. Strongly acid soils.

Vegetation: Ericaceous shrub and shrub birch with moss understory

Parent Material:  20 to 40 cm thick moderately decomposed, mossy organic mat over coarse silty loess

Drainage:  Poorly (plain talfs) to very poorly drained (footslopes)

Slope:  Gently sloping talfs on plains to convex footslopes below hills

Flooding: No flooding hazard
